Camera

Oppo A5 2020 camera

A5 (2020): image stabilization

The Oppo A5 (2020) has 4 cameras on the back of the device. That's special for a smartphone in this price range. In addition to the 12-megapixel standard lens, the device has an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens. With this, you can easily capture large groups or buildings. The device also has 2 depth sensors of 2 megapixels. These sensors provide a depth of field effect when you make a portrait photo. The electronic image stabilization ensures your videos are more stable while you walk or sit at the back of a scooter.

Oppo A9 2020 camera

A9 (2020): more details and colors

The Oppo A9 (2020) also contains 4 cameras. The difference with the A5 (2020) is mainly in the standard lens. This 48-megapixel camera combines 4 megapixels into 1. This means you take a 12 megapixel photo, but with more information. This allows you to see colors and details better. The 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and the 2 depth sensors are the same as on the Oppo A5 (2020). Thanks to the image stabilization, you can also make excellent videos with the OPPO A9 when you're on the move.

Oppo Reno2 Z camera

Reno2 Z: easy editing

The Oppo Reno2 Z also has 4 cameras. With its 48-megapixel standard lens, 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and 2 depth sensors, the camera setup is similar to that of the A9 (2020). The Reno2 Z also has image stabilization. On top of that, it's striking that the 32-megapixel selfie camera slides out of the device when you need it. You can edit your photos and videos quickly and easily via Soloop, which is installed on the device by default.

Performance

Oppo A5 speed

A5 (2020): suitable for basic tasks

The Oppo A5 (2020) has 3GB RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. This allows the smartphone to handle tasks such as texting and internet browsing. On top of that, you can also play basic games such as Wordfeud or Candy Crush. This device isn't suitable for demanding games such as Fortnite. You can store your apps, photos, and files on the 64GB storage. Isn't this enough for you? You can expand the storage up to 256GB with a micro SD card.

Oppo A9 speed

A9 (2020): smooth in daily use

The Oppo A9 (2020) has the same Snapdragon 655 processor as the A5 (2020). The 4GB RAM is slightly more. This makes the A9 (2020) a bit faster and more powerful. This means that your apps like YouTube start up quickly and you can scroll smoothly through your Instagram timeline. With 128GB storage, you have enough space for your apps and photos. You can also expand the storage capacity of the A9 up to 256GB with a micro SD card.

Oppo Reno 2z speed

Reno2 Z: multitask with basic apps

Interestingly, Oppo has opted for a less powerful Mediatek P90 processor in the Reno2 Z. This processor works well with the camera, but offers less power for the other functions of your phone. As a result, the device doesn't start up demanding apps as fast. On the other hand, switching between less demanding apps such as Instagram, Facebook, and your internet browser is smooth thanks to 8GB RAM. The 128GB storage of the Reno2 Z is expandable with a memory card of up 256GB as well.

Battery

A5 (2020) battery

A5 (2020): can be used as a power bank

The Oppo A5 (2020) has a huge 5000mAh battery. This allows you to easily get through a day and a half without charging. In addition, the A5 (2020) offers another useful function. You can also use the device as a power bank. This is useful when you're away from home together and your partner's phone is empty. You do need a separately available USB OTG cable for this. Keep in mind that your battery will drain faster with this function.

A9 (2020) battery

A9 (2020): can be used as a power bank

The Oppo A9 (2020) also has a large 5000mAh battery. This allows you to easily get through the day without charging. That large battery also comes in handy with the Reverse Charging function of the device. So you can use the A9 as a power bank, just like the A5. The required USB OTG cable also isn't included with the OPPO A9 (2020), so don't forget to order this separately.

Reno2 Z battery

Reno2 Z: fast charging function

The OPPO Reno2 Z has a slightly smaller, but still large 4000mAh battery. This battery is also large enough to last a whole day without charging. It's not surprising Oppo has opted for a smaller battery in the Reno2 Z, because you can't use this device as a power bank. So you can use the full battery capacity for your own device. In addition, this smartphone supports VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge. With this fast charging function, you can charge your device very quickly.

A9 (2020): colorful devices

The selfie camera of the Oppo A9 (2020) can also be found in a notch in the 6.5-inch Full HD screen. This makes the bezels just as thin as those of the A5 (2020). Unlike the A5 (2020), the plastic casing of the A9 has striking colors. The green device has a color gradient from dark green to black. With the purple variant, you see the colors running from purple to blue.

Oppo Reno2 Z appearance

Reno2 Z: bezel-less screen, stylish design

The Reno2 Z also has a large 6.5-inch Full HD screen. You can take selfies with the pop-up camera that slides out when you take a selfie. Since there is no camera in the screen, you hardly see any bezels. On top of that, the device has a stylish glass casing. The white device looks luxurious, while the black smartphone with the striking blue details looks tough instead.
