Design

Design Tab S7 Plus

Tab S7 Plus: 12.4-inch 120Hz screen

The large 12.4-inch screen of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus immediately catches the eye. The large screen is comfortable for work, school, or entertainment. The disadvantage is that the tablet is slightly heavier and you can't take it with you as easily. The Quad HD screen refreshes 120 times per second, which makes the image look very smooth. The Tab S7 and S7 Plus are available in black, silver, and bronze.

Design Tab S7

Tab S7: 11-inch 120Hz screen

Like the S6 and S7 Plus, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 has a stylish metal casing. The 11-inch tablet is slightly larger than the Tab S6. The back of the tablet has a dual camera, including a wide-angle lens. In addition, the notch for the magnetic attachment of the S Pen can also be found on the back of all three tablets. The fingerprint scanner is on the side of the Tab S7. Samsung has placed this scanner under the screen on the Tab S6 and S7.

Design Tab S6

Tab S6: 10.5-inch 60Hz screen

Although the design of the 3 Samsung tablets is similar, there are some differences. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is equipped with a 10.5-inch screen and is smaller than the Tab S7 and S7 Plus. The Tab S6 has a Quad HD screen with a refresh rate of 60Hz. This makes animations less smooth, for example. You'll especially notice this with fast-moving images in movies, games, or when you scroll through the menu. The Tab S6 is available in the colors blue, gray and pink.

Speed & memory

Tab S7 speed memory

Tab S7 & S7 Plus: Snapdragon 865 Plus processor

Both the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and the Tab S7 Plus have the latest Snapdragon processor, the Snapdragon 865 Plus. Just like the Tab S6, the tablets have 6GB RAM (128GB storage) or 8GB RAM (256GB storage). The S7 and S7 Plus are just as fast. The difference in speed with the Tab S6 is noticeable when you use the tablet for demanding tasks like photo or video editing or regularly switch between different apps.

Tab S6 speed memory

Tab S6: Snapdragon 855 processor

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 has a Snapdragon 855 Octa-Core processor. The version with 128GB storage has 6GB RAM. The 256GB version even has 8GB RAM. This makes the Tab S6 slower than the S7 and S7 Plus. During everyday use, such as social media and Netflix, you don't really notice this difference in speed.

Mobile data

The new 5G network will be rolled out in the Netherlands and Belgium in the coming months. This network is faster and more stable than the current 4G network. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus is the first tablet with 5G support to appear on the European market. To use the new network, you need a SIM card with a mobile data plan for 5G. It's also possible to use the 4G network if you don't have data plan like that or if the network isn't available in your region.

If you also want to use the internet in places without WiFi, you have to use mobile internet. You can do this by placing a SIM card with a mobile data plan in the tablet. This comes in handy when you regularly use the tablet on the go. Both the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 and S7 are available with WiFi only or WiFi and 4G support.

Conclusion

While the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, S7, and S7 Plus have many similarities, there are plenty of things to keep in mind when looking for a new Samsung tablet. The main difference is the size. The spacious 12.4-inch screen of the Tab S7 Plus is pleasant to work with or comfortable to watch a series on. This does make the tablet a lot bigger and heavier, so it's more difficult to carry around. When using the tablet for demanding tasks, the faster Tab S7 or S7 Plus with 256GB storage is the best choice.
