How do you set up your TomTom watch?
Connecting to a computer
- Download and install TomTom MySports Connect.
- Connect the watch to the computer.
- Register the sports watch.
- Log in or create an account.
- Synchronize the watch and the computer.
Connecting to a smartphone
- Download the TomTom MySports app.
- Log in or create an account.
- Select your specific model.
- Connect the watch to your phone.
- Select your watch.
- Enter the 6-digit PIN code.
- Confirm the connection.
Connecting my TomTom to my computer
The following operating systems are required to properly install your TomTom sports watch: Windows 8 and 10 (PC version only) Windows XP (or later) Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard: except for Intel Core Duo & Intel Core Solo) Mac OS 10.7 (Lion: or later)
Step 1: download and install the TomTom MySports Connect
Via TomTom's website, you can download the installation tool, TomTom MySports Connect, for either your Windows computer or your Apple MacBook. Next, you'll have to follow the steps to install the program.
Step 2: connect the watch to the computer
Remove the watch case from the watch strap and connected to the USB charger. Plug the USB cable into your computer's USB port. The computer will recognize the watch and start TomTom MySports Connect.
Is your computer not recognizing your TomTom sports watch? Make sure the watch is properly seated in the charger; it has to click into place.
Step 3: register the sports watch
As soon as the program, TomTom MySports Connect, has started up, you'll be asked to register the watch. Press the register button.
Step 4: log in or create an account
Next, the web page for TomTom MySports will be opened. If you already have an account, you can log in. Don't have an account yet? You'll have to create one.
Step 5: sync the watch and the computer
Once you're logged in, the program will sync to your watch and update the QuickGPS fix. You can of course also check out all your workout results TomTom MySports.
Connecting my TomTom to my smartphone
Unfortunately, it isn't possible to connect your TomTom watch to a Windows Phone. Your phone has to meet the following minimal requirements: Android 4.4 (or later) with Bluetooth 4.1 (or later) iPhone 4S (or later)
Step 1: download the TomTom MySports app
You can download the TomTom MySports app via the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Next, you install the app on your phone and open the app.
Step 2: log in or create an account
Do you already have a TomTom MySports account? In that case, first log in and accept the terms and conditions. Don't have an account yet? Click on "I don't have an account" and follow the steps on the screen.
Step 3: select your specific model
Choose "Watch" if you want to connect the TomTom Runner, Spark, or Adventurer. Choose "Band" if you want to connect the TomTom Touch. The bottom of the screen displays the devices the app has found.
Step 4: connect the watch to your phone
In the clock screen, press the down button on your sports watch. Now select "Phone" and press the button to the right. Next, select "Connect" and press the button to the right again. The watch will now notify you that you have to download the app. Press the button to the right again. You'll see a Bluetooth logo with a moving circle around it. That means the watch is now also looking for the phone.
Did your phone stop searching by now? Repeat step 3. The Bluetooth icon on your phone and watch should be displayed simultaneously.
Step 5: select your watch
At the bottom of your screen, your specific TomTom sports watch will appear under "Select your device". Tap that model.
Did your watch not appear? Check if there are not other Bluetooth devices within a radius of 10 meters. They can interfere with the connection process. Try connecting again.
Step 6: enter the 6-digit PIN code
You now have to enter a 6-digit PIN code on your phone. You can find the PIN code on the watch. That way, you can be sure the right watch is being connected to the right phone.
Step 7: confirm the connection
Both the phone and the watch will show a check mark once the connection has been established. All you need to do now is tap "Ok" in the app. You'll now be taken to the TomTom MySports app where you can track all your activity.
