Tips for steel welding
  • Consider the thickness of the material when welding steel. Based on this you determine the height of the amperage. Because the thicker the material, the higher the current must be.
  • When determining the power supply, follow the following rule: for a 1 millimeter plate you need approximately 40 amps, for 2 millimeters 80 amps, etc. The welding consumables that you choose also depend on the plate thickness. A thick steel plate requires filler material with a higher diameter than thin aluminum.
  • Many different types of additive are available for welding steel, depending on your planned application. The composition of the welding rods, electrodes or the welding wire must match the type of steel that you are going to process.
  • You keep your steel construction nice and rust-free by finishing it well.
