Save energy with a smile

With Dynamic Energy from Coolblue Energy, you pay for your energy per moment and benefit if you plan your consumption. You can turn on your washing machine when the energy price is low, for example. You can also combine this with a fixed gas rate, so you won't have sudden surprises when the gas price changes.

Dynamic electricity rates at Coolblue Energy

Car charging

With dynamic energy from Coolblue Energy, we offer a dynamic electricity rate. You pay the rate of the time of consumption and you can benefit by timing your consumption smartly.

We'll help you make smart choices by giving you insight into the rates of today and tomorrow. That way, you know when power is the most affordable and you can plan when you do your laundry. That way, you can save a lot on your energy bill.

In addition to dynamic energy, you can also get a fixed rate for gas at Coolblue Energy. With this, you're protected from fluctuating gas prices. That way, you don't get an unexpectedly high gas bill during the winter.

Do you have solar panels?

A dynamic energy contract is the best choice. You don't pay feed-in costs and you receive the market price for the energy you generate and don't use yourself right away. That way, you get more out of your solar panels and out of every sunny day.

Save with dynamic energy

Confirmed to be more affordable with dynamic energy

The price for electricity changes throughout the day and you can benefit when the energy price is low, for example when the sun shines or when there's a strong wind. By planning your consumption at the right moments, you can get the most out of your own yield and the low market prices.

The energy price is based on the current purchase price. That means you don't have to pay for uncertainty about future prices. That way, your energy rates are lower on average than with a fixed contract.

What's dynamic energy?

Dynamic energy

With dynamic energy, the rate for electricity and gas with the purchase price changes depending on the time of consumption. Do we generate a lot of green energy in the Netherlands? Your energy rate decreases. If you plan your energy consumption intelligently, you can save on your costs right away.

Differences between dynamic, fixed, and variable energy contracts

No feed-in costs with solar panels

Do you have solar panels, a charging station, home battery, or heat pump? You have an even more advantage with dynamic energy. You don't pay feed-in costs and you benefit from low rates during moments when there's a lot of green energy. Use your smart devices when the prices are low, so you automatically save more.

Questions Answers.

What does my monthly amount look like with dynamic energy?

Your monthly amount consists of your consumption and the rates at the time of consumption. Your monthly amount varies per month, because it depends on how much you used and what the quarter-hourly rates were.

I have solar panels. How does that work with a dynamic energy contract?

Unlike fixed or variable contracts, you receive the current 15-minute rate for your feed-in with dynamic contracts. The purchase fee is deducted from this. With fixed and variable contracts, you receive 2 predetermined rates for feed-in: this is either the same as your supply rate (up to total consumption in a year, this is called net-metering) or your feed-in tariff (above the net-metering limit).

What do you need to apply for a dynamic energy contract?

You need a readable smart meter. We need to know what you consumed per 15 minutes, so we can charge the right rate. A smart meter is also required to view your consumption per 15 minutes in an app or other environment. And that'll help you to use your consumption intelligently when the price is low.

Where can I find the overviews in the app and what do these overviews tell me?

In the Coolblue App, you'll find a heading with Coolblue Energy at the bottom right under 'profile'. Here, you can find the current energy rates. In the overview, you can see when the energy price is lowest. You can see what tomorrow's prices will be a day in advance at 14:30. This way, you can plan your consumption in advance at times when the rate is the lowest.
