Turn any socket into a WiFi hotspot with the Netgear Powerline PLW1000 KIT. Connect the access point adapter to your router, plug the powerline adapter into the socket, and you immediately have an extra internet connector. Because the PLW1000 uses the existing powerlines in your home, there's no need to run long network cables. • Pros:
Very effective, easy to set up
  • Con:
both units get quite warm in operation
  • Con:
    booster unit is quite large

I found these easy to set up and the boost from the wi-fi booster is considerable, sufficient to allow the signal to be picked up from another floor in an old townhouse with thick floors and ceilings.
