For a long time I wanted a decent car radio to replace the standard unit that is built into my dashboard. After some searching I came up with the FH-X730BT, because of the possibilities this radio has and the fact that I preferred a radio without a touchscreen.

After ordering the radio (which arrived within 1 day, congratulations!) and the necessary materials to be able to build everything in, I sat down for a while on a sunny Saturday afternoon. All in all, removing the standard radio turned out to be more work than installing the new radio; this was done. You can hardly do anything wrong, everything is self-explanatory.

Setting up the radio was also a piece of cake, although it is a good idea to consult the user manual for the more extensive settings (and there are some). Setting up radio stations and connecting my phone was a piece of cake, and after adjusting the display to my preferences, I just hit the road.

The sound of the radio is fine, and can be further adjusted by the equalizer profiles that are accessible via the settings menu. Also the operation of my phone (note: you often need an extra steering wheel interface specifically for your car) works perfectly. Scrolling through my playlist is flawless, and sound from navigation software is also neatly displayed over the radio. Playing music via a USB stick or AUX input also works fine, nothing to complain about.

All in all, I can only say that if you're looking for a decent 2-din radio without a touchscreen or all kinds of fuss, the FH-X730BT is a very good player. You can't beat the price either, it is very affordable and for that amount you have a really good radio!
