The NVIDIA Ampere RTX 3000 series is the successor to the NVIDIA Turing RTX 2000 series. The Ampere series consists of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 3090, and 3070, in chronological order. Although the RTX 3070 costs half of the RTX 2080 Ti, it's a lot more powerful despite it being the 'entry-level GPU' of the Ampere series. The RTX 3070 has a clock speed of approximately 1,700MHz and 5,888 CUDA cores, allowing you to game in QHD or 4K. Next in line is the RTX 3080. This video card allows you to play smoothly in 4K. The 3080 has twice as many CUDA cores as the 2080 Ti, a higher clock speed and GDDR6X memory instead of GDDR6. The latest in the series is the BFGPU, or Big Ferocious Graphics Processing Unit, the RTX 3090. This video card is only comparable to the NVIDIA Titan, if it was a gaming GPU. With more than 10,000 CUDA cores and 24GB GDDR6X VRAM, this is an absolute powerhouse that lets you game in 8K.
