This will change on your energy bill in 2025

Due to new government measures, your energy bill will change in 2025. Your network operator costs will increase, but the energy tax on electricity and gas will go down. In this article, you can read what these changes mean for your enegry bill.

Higher network operator costs

You pay network operator costs for the use and maintenance of the power grid. Because we're transitioning to energy from renewable energy sources, network operators are pouring a lot of money into improving and expanding the power grid. That's why you pay more fixed network operating costs in 2025. The ACM estimates you pay € 5 more monthly.

Lower energy tax in 2025

The Dutch Cabinet will lower the energy taxes in 2025.

The reduction on gas will go from € 0.7054 to € 0.6996 per cubic meter. For electricity, it'll go from € 0.1316 to € 0.1229 per kilowatt-hour.

Slight increase of energy tax reduction

With the energy tax reduction, you receive a fixed amount to get part of the taxes back. The government determines this amount. In 2025, this reduction with increase by € 3.80. This means the amount goes from € 631.39 to € 635.19 including VAT.
