The Boya Mini-Ultra Mini is the smallest wireless microphone I have ever seen. Yet the sound quality is not inferior to that of larger microphones. The only disadvantage of this small design is that the receiver does not have a screen, so I cannot see in which mode it is recording.
Small design
The set I am testing contains 2 microphones, a USB C receiver and a lightning receiver. Because I have an older iPhone, I use the lightning receiver. I find it useful that there is also a USB C receiver included, because all new iPhones nowadays have a USB C connection. This means that I will still use this microphone if I ever buy a new phone. The microphones weigh only 5 grams each and are the same size as a wireless earbud. This makes them almost invisible during a recording. The receiver is also small, so it does not get in the way when I use it with my phone. An advantage of this is that I can also use it with a gimbal without any problems. I charge the 2 microphones and one receiver wirelessly in the included charging case. This case is about the same size as my AirPods charging case.
Clear sound
I like that I don't have to download an app or adjust the settings on my phone. I put the receiver in my phone and start recording right away. The sound from the microphone sounds much better than the sound I record with just my phone. I notice that my voice sounds clear and distinct and I hear little noise in the background. This is also due to the windshield on the microphone. I think this sound quality is definitely good enough for social media and short interviews.
Noise cancelling
The microphone has 3 different noise cancelling modes. If I click the button on the receiver once, the mode changes. A green light on the receiver lights up when the noise cancelling is on. It just doesn't have a screen where I can see which noise cancelling mode it is in. I find this less convenient. The noise cancelling works well. I film outside in a place with a lot of traffic and hear much less noise in my recordings. The microphone also has 2 different voice effects, where you get a very deep voice or a very high voice. This is nice for an exaggerated effect, but sounds very fake. So I don't use this often.
