I recently bought this product together with Sony AKA-DM1 Dog harness to attach my gopro to it
However, that does pose a problem because the tripod mount (which you also need) does not fit without adjustments.
now if you remove that little yellow pin next to the threads you can attach the mount and the gopro is compatible with both this harness and other sony accessories that use this mount.
for the rest it is a sturdy attachment that is well secured and certainly as good as the gopro attachments.
