The UV filters of B + W are characterized by the absorption of the invisible UV part of the light that can cause blur. Your photos gain in clarity that avoids a disturbing blush. This filter has the special Multi Resistant Coating (MRC) which provides a highly developed protective layer. In addition, the optical performance is increased with a maximum reflection reduction. The coating is harder than glass so it is well protected against scratches and also water and dirt repellent.

I bought this B+W UV Filter MRC 72 E UV Filter for my new Canon EF-S 15-85mm. I've bought another B+W UV filter for my other lens before, so B+W is an easy choice. As expected, this filter works fine, I am very satisfied with it.
I chose the more expensive MRC version for better anti-reflection, better contrast in bright light conditions. This fits well with EF-S 15-85, because a good lens also deserves a good filter. The filter has a sturdy construction, easy to install and the glass is super clear. Really recommended to buy!
Order from Coolblue was very good and delivered very quickly (less than 24 hours!) Couldn't expect anything else :)

The filter is on a zoom lens from 16 to 85 mm. To protect the front lens against raindrops, dust, scratches, etc. I have a lot of experience with B+W filters from the analog era (especially yellow, green, orange, red, pola. For black/white photography). Even then they stood out because of the robust construction, without being very heavy. I used them on fixed lenses. A zoom lens with as many lens elements (glass surfaces) as the above-mentioned lens places even more demands on a filter. This mainly concerns the possible extra reflections that the filter can cause. After all, there are two extra glass surfaces! I don't notice it, not even with backlight or bright light from the side. I assume this is due to the superior coating of the filter. Congrats! Furthermore, no vignetting at the shortest focal length (16 mm). It is not a cheap filter, but meets all my expectations! I'm very happy with it.

One of the more expensive filters, but you get quality for it. I myself do not notice any difference with or without a filter in the image quality, nor have I noticed a higher sensitivity. Not as easy to clean compared to non MRC filter as some reviews give the impression.
