According to our camera lens expert
The Fujifilm XF 56mm lens is suitable for the advanced portrait photographer. You can create a large depth of field effect thanks to the maximum aperture of f/1.2. This pulls the people you capture from the background. The light-sensitive lens allows handheld shooting in dark locations for longer periods of time. Distortions and color differences in your pictures are reduced by the 11 lens elements in 8 groups. The elements come with a special multicoating, which creates more contrast in your pictures. This coating counteracts reflections and shadows to create a natural result.

I have to be honest, after two days of testing I wanted to return the lens because of the terribly slow and insecure autofocus. However, after a week of persevering, and getting to know the limitations in the right conditions, I can only say: WOW. This is not a lens for everyone as it can frustrate you, this is far from a Point and Shoot lens (on my XT2), but once you 'understand' the lens you'll get results you've never seen before. Not for sports or action photography in my humble opinion, but great for situations where you can take your time. Fantastic!

Looking for a good portrait lens for my x-t2 I came across the 56mm and the 50mm. I went for the 56 mm due to the max aperture of 1.2. The lens produces a beautiful and dreamy bokeh. Remains very sharp even at open aperture. Focus speed is slightly less but very useful for portraits. Very satisfied for now.

Beautiful lens; in combination with X-T10 body and extra grip a wonderful combination. Razor-sharp photos, even fully open at f1.2. And a beautiful blurry gradient (bokeh). Highly recommended! And CoolBlue: excellent same day delivery (not available anywhere else quickly) 😀
