For me, this 150/600 lens gets the subjects I photograph nicely close. Since I photograph birds, butterflies and other animals, I can't get too close to them without them flying or running away. This makes this lens a nice addition. I overcome the negative weight by using my tripod. Unfortunately, this makes you a little less fast/flexible, but the result is there.
