Let me first of all state I absolutely LOVE my Blendtec blender. It is an essential piece of kit in my kitchen. The machine is still going strong after nearly 7 years and I'd recommend this appliance to anyone. The jar however, the previous design at least, has flaws. The latest jar I own broke after only 570 uses. I was blending soup when all of a sudden it started making an uncharacteristic noise and basically started to chew itself up. The black gasket that seals the bottom of the jar broke apart in my food and the jar immediately started leaking all over the place. A cleanup, a takeaway and a lot of euros later it will be replaced and I will be happy again. Lets hope the renewed design will serve me better!
