According to our binoculars expert
The Vortex Diamondback 8x42 is a set of binoculars for bird watchers and travelers. Thanks to the exit pupil of 5.3mm and the twilight factor of 18.3, you can use this binocular after sunset without problems. For example, you can observe drinking animals at dusk. With the close focus of 1.5 meters, you can easily focus on subjects closer to you. You can also focus on footprints or birds low in a tree. The phase correction coatings on the lenses create high-contrast images, so that you'll see clear, bright colors. Anti-reflective coatings reduce reflections. This gives you good visibility with lots of sunlight.

I had first tried the 10x32, but as a wearer of glasses this was very disappointing; I had to press the viewer against my glasses to see something and not even the whole image.
However, this 8x42 is a breath of fresh air compared to that. Even with my glasses on I can see everything perfectly. And the 8x magnification is much better than 10x; the image is much more stable/less shaken and yet I can see everything fine. So don't be blind ( :D ) on the "only" 8x magnification; I can still see everything fine at great distances. 10x is really overkill for most purposes and even very inconvenient.
It took me a while to get used to the focus wheel. This is fairly precise/sensitive. But after some getting used to it, I can now do this without any problems.
The included bag is more than enough to easily transport the binoculars. It is well protected in it and you have enough space to put the viewer in it.
Are you in doubt? Just try them both! I was able to exchange my 10x32 for this 8x42 in the Coolblue store without any problems (make sure it stays tidy of course)! As far as I'm concerned, the 8x42 is the absolute winner; especially if you wear glasses!

8 x 42 chosen for use in nature. No problem wearing glasses, vision correction possible. Fits comfortably in the hand. Bag can take a beating. In the many trade magazines that I had previously read, this device always came out remarkably well in the middle segment. My first choice was the Nikon Monarch 7 8x42, generally praised by nature lovers, but costs 130 eur more for the same viewing pleasure.

Very fine binoculars, what is striking is that it also continues to perform excellently in minimal light. Nice clear image. Price quality unbeatable!
