According to our projector expert
With the LG PF1000U, you can watch large projections in your classroom or small living room. For a 60-inch projection, you only need to place this short throw projector 11 centimeters away from the wall. This will make sure that no one walks through the projection. Move it further away from the wall to increase the size of the projections to a maximum of 100 inches. The projector can play videos and photos from USB flash drives, which means you won't need a laptop or computer to view your files. Once you're done watching movies, you can easily store the projector in a cupboard or drawer thanks to its compact design.

I was looking for a projector for my back wall that wouldn't get in the way of the door that is perpendicular to the projection wall, and that wouldn't require me to remodel the entire room or install ceiling mounts. It was equally precise fitting and measuring, especially with the HDMI cable connection on the right side, where the cable just misses the open door. There is also an HDMI connection on the back, but because I want to connect two different devices, I am considering buying an angled HDMI adapter.
The image on my wall has a diagonal of about 2 meters, with the back of the unit just over 26 cm away from the wall. This works fine for me.
The sharpness of the image can be adjusted quite well with the rotary knob on top of the device, but the depth of field is so low that a small curvature of my wall creates a small area that is out of focus compared to the rest of the screen. This only strikes me when reading small text and I could probably fix it with a better screen.
The menu contains settings that allow you to adjust the corners of your image towards the center (vertical and horizontal can be set independently of each other), which works well for precise adjustments. In the end I just got the image right with the help of 2 of the 4 adjustable screw feet under the projector. It's a bit of fiddling because the feet move freely, and because you have to lift the device every time to make those changes, but it works.
There are also quite a few settings for color and other effects on the image, which you can individually turn on and off, such as 'Dynamic Contrast', 'Edge Enhancer', 'Noise Reduction' and the color range. Always nice if you have some control over that, although they don't give much information about the use of features like "Wide Gamut". I'm assuming it's about the "Adobe Wide Gamut RGB".
I immediately set the projector to 'Maximum' Energy Saving mode, which makes the image slightly less bright, but also makes the projector much less noise. With 'Medium' and 'Minimum' you will immediately hear a buzzing sound, and over the course of a minute a fan will spin faster and faster. Once you have movie sound turned on it's less noticeable, and for me the 'Maximum' Energy Saving mode is generally fine.
It remains to be seen whether the LEDs indeed provide a longer life, but it is soothing not to have to constantly worry about how long the lamp will last.
Someone told me that the 'DLP Rainbow Effect' with LED projectors should no longer be a problem, but this model still suffers from it. However, it is less disturbing to me than with other DLP projectors, especially with the signal from my laptop.
There is a speaker that is loud enough to be able to understand the TV well 6 meters away, but for really nice sound with more low tones, it is of course better to use a separate sound system.
The advertising material mentions "Wireless screen-share" and wifi. I could not find actual WiFi support, but it turns out that this is support for Miracast. To be able to use this, it is best to look for an explanation about the device that you want to stream to the beamer, because the information from LG itself is very unclear. In the end it works (tested with Sony Xperia Z3 Compact).
One thing I'm still concerned about is there isn't really a convenient way to cover the bin with the lenses when I'm not using the projector. I expect to have to remove dust from the lenses on a regular basis. Of course, this wouldn't be such a big deal if I mounted the projector on the ceiling.
Don't forget to buy an HDMI cable. If you also have limited space on the right side of the device, it may be worth using a corner adapter.

Beautiful and interesting projector. First use for a presentation on the occasion of a family celebration in the hall: clear presentation, easily connected and operable. Very satisfied with the purchase.

Initial setup is easy. In energy-efficient mode, the sound is barely audible, only at quiet moments. It is very audible in daylight and at the lowest energy level. Bought the projector for watching TV/movie in the evening and it is perfectly suitable for that. I just have to sand down my wall for a better picture. This was chosen because of the LED lamp that needs to be replaced less quickly.
