"Nice lens for a decent price."

  • Pros:
    Solid build
  • Pros:
    Decent image quality
  • Con:
    Heavy
  • Con:
    Slow

It was a close call between the Sigma 150-600 contemporary and this one. For the same price, you can buy the Sigma with the x1.4 TC and the USB dock. At the same time, this one has a better build quality and a proper focus ring. For me, that was more important. The lens itself is nicely built, feels very sturdy, and handles well. However, it is heavy. If you carry this around on a FF body with a grip for few hours, you will definitely feel it.

The image quality of this lens is decent. It will definitely not compete with EF prime lenses but they are in a different league. For the price, this lens performs well. It is of course a little slow at the far end. It will hunt for focus in low-light. The VC also works quite well.

Nice lens for a decent price.
