After thorough research through reviews and YouTube videos, I finally chose the Otterbox Strada because of the tests in fall protection. Of course I don't intend to drop my phone (who will), but an accident is just around the corner, and this case at least gives the feeling that the phone has a chance at survival. I prefer a cover case. This is because of the extra protection of the screen in a handbag / jacket pocket and the screen is not only protected by a thin screen protector.
Material:
The Otterbox Strada looks good quality with a clean design. The leather cover is sturdy (doesn't flap), the finish and stitching are very neat and the inside is made of a soft suede-like material. It can hold 1 or 2 cards, but I keep it to 1 myself so as not to tease the magnetic closure too much.
frame:
The frame in which the phone sits feels flexible yet sturdy. Both the top and bottom have a raised edge, which offers extra protection in the event of a fall as well as when you put your phone on the screen side. The edge screen is also easily accessible and all buttons work properly (tactile).
I don't have any experience with how the cover will hold up over time, but it all looks promising. Keep in mind that the cover gives extra weight to the phone (221 grams in total).
What I do miss is that there are no further color choices. There is only black and brown for the Samsung S8. Maybe Otterbox will come up with that again.
The Strada is an absolute must if you prefer a protective, sturdy cover.
