According to our electric mop expert
The Bissell CrossWave lets you achieve professional results when cleaning different types of flooring at home. It won't just let you vacuum dry and wet dirt quickly, but lets you mop the floor with the rotating microfiber roller at the same time, even drying the floor as well. This advanced electric mop can tackle all these tasks simultaneously. While you're cleaning, all the dirt will end up in a separate dirt container, so you'll always have clean water at your disposal. In addition to cleaning hard floors, the CrossWave can also be used on carpet by switching to the carpet function. When you're done, you can neatly stow the appliance by rolling up the power cord at the back.

Since today an experience in cleaning richer. Immediately tried the Bissell CrossWave on our parquet and tile floor after purchase. Previously we had (2x!) a similar machine from the well-known competitor in the yellow jacket and starting with the letter K. The first was broken after 2 weeks, the second had the same problem with the engine and that at 7 months. So let's see how the Bissell CrossWave holds up through weekly use.
You cannot compare the Bissell CrossWave with that of the yellow competitor. Why? If only for the cleaning result that is much better with the Bissell CrossWave because the brush rotates much faster, and what I find an extremely big advantage with the CrossWave is that there are 2 tanks that function separately from each other. 1 for the clean water with detergent and the other for collecting the dirty water. Incidentally, Bissell's brushes are cheaper than those of the yellow competitor. I personally find Bissell's cleaning agent (multi-surface) way too expensive. There is also 1 bottle standard in the box.
I find the CrossWave sufficiently manoeuvrable and manoeuvrable even though it is not the lightest machine. The rubber wheels roll perfectly and quietly on the floor, only the suction motor makes a lot of noise, but I don't think that is a really big problem. The handle has sufficient height for me (1.85m body length) to avoid unnecessary bending and back pain during cleaning.
On/off is easy with the 2 selection buttons (hard floor/carpet) above the handle. There is also a spray-dosing button at the bottom of the handle to activate the clean water and detergent, which can be pressed without much effort for instant or continuous dosing.
I found the end result surprisingly better than that of the competitor. In my opinion, the suction power for sucking up the dirty water is much better. The brush is good although I would have liked to see a second type with harder and more bristles in the range especially for tile floors. The current one is sufficient, but has some problems with some slightly deep joints in the tile floor to achieve an optimal result. No streaks are left behind on either the parquet or the tiles. With slightly more stuck-on dirt, going over it a few times with the brush is enough to make this disappear as well, unlike the yellow competitor.
A small disadvantage of the Bissell CrossWave is that it has limited space with the suction nozzle to get under a cupboard, sofa and chair, it also has a so-called dead end on both the left and right of the brush / suction nozzle through which and along an object, or skirting board, it is not possible to reach a full contact surface of the brush. The squeegee can be turned both left and right during use.
The CrossWave is both a scrubber and a vacuum cleaner although I personally don't see it or will use it as a vacuum cleaner. For me personally it will only be used as a scrubber. The suction result of dust and loose dirt on the floor is surprisingly better than that of the competitor. Sand, leaves, dust, even large particles are absorbed much better in my opinion.
Both tanks have an indication level for the fill level of water and an additional level for the cleaning agent, for both small surfaces and large surfaces and the waste water tank has an indication level on the tank with a max. level up to which waste water may be collected.
After use, cleaning is also a simple job, both the waste water tank with special Hepa filter as well as the suction mouth and brush can be cleaned quickly and easily. The disadvantage is that if the filter is cleaned, you have to let it dry for at least 24 hours before you install it again and start using the CrossWave. My advice is therefore to buy a 2nd filter separately.
The additionally supplied floor stand in which the CrossWave will be placed after use or during a break is an advantage, also because a wet brush standing still on parquet cannot cause rings/moisture stains. There is also an extra bracket on the floor stand where you can place 2 brushes upright to dry. The floor stand is very stable and has rubber caps on the bottom that prevent it from slipping. A nice advantage of the floor stand is that they can also be used for a quick in-between cleaning of CrossWave. Simply pour warm water into the stand up to the maximum level indicator, then switch the CrossWave on to suction and then it will suck up the water to clean the squeegee, brush and squeegee outlet.
The CrossWave has a cord length of about 7 meters which is sufficient for me, but I can imagine that others would have liked to see this longer. Incidentally, the cord cannot be rolled up automatically, but must be wound around 2 cord hooks on the handle and machine.
The CrossWave is not the cheapest compared to the competitor, but personally I think it is better on all fronts, for me it has been worth that extra amount by now.

Despite all the positive risks, I am very curious what my first impression would be. I am very positive. It cleans well and does this with clean water (if you mop traditionally, you use water that is already contaminated). After walking barefoot through the house I felt how clean the floor was and that it was cleaner than before. Does not mop around the edges, but does absorb the dirt here. I read in some reviews that it is difficult to clean with the device, I do not have this experience. It makes quite a bit of noise but not disturbing in my opinion. For larger surfaces you will have to refill the water tank more often. The drain tank fills up less quickly, which is nice. Cable is on the short side (in a large room). After filling the water tank you can start immediately. Cleaning and storage is relatively quick. Not difficult to use, not even the first time.
