According to our gaming headset expert
With the Razer Kraken Pro V2 Oval, Razer has made the Pro V2 a bit more spacious around your ears. With 50mm drivers, the V2 also offers deeper bass and more spacious stereo sound than its predecessor. The welcome improvements in terms of comfort focus primarily on weight and ease of use. The frame of the Kraken Pro V2 consists of aluminum. This leads to a much lighter total weight and, thanks to the oval fit, the headset presses less hard on the ears of players with a larger head or larger ears. It's a lot nicer to wear the headset for a long time as a result. You can work for hours on your console, PC, or mobile device with the V2 Oval.

I had the Turtle Beach x41 which is a great headset. Unfortunately this is wireless and eats batteries like I eat shawarma after a night out. That became very expensive and so I started looking for a wired headset. Razer products always look good and the bright green design my wife hated so much that I had to order it.
I open the box, the green jumps at me, a smile appears on my face, I plug it in (just remove the extension cable using a console).... ***Sound. Within three seconds it was back in the return box. After the box kept looking at me sadly for several hours, I decided to give the headset another chance and plugged it back in. I decided it wasn't very fair to compare a $100 headset to a $260 headset.
Fortnite started (Xbox) and tried again. Yes, the bass is very heavy and the tones of the highs are somewhat overshadowed by it. After an hour of constant shooting in Tilted Towers I started to get used to the sound, the bass actually had its charms. I came to the conclusion that if I hadn't had my other headset, this one was actually quite a nice thing. It fits perfectly over my ears with the oval cushions, not too heavy. the mic. is clear and while it's a pull-out, it works just as well when it's just in the headphones, and yes, it's bright green. You don't need the Xbox's 3.5mm converter cable that constantly breaks. A tip is to google how the adapter of the Xbox controller works exactly, because with that you set the volume of the chat and the game. The headset itself also has a button for chat volume and a mute function.
After a game session of about 4 hours, it was still comfortable, the ambient noise is very well excluded and there is even a little noise reduction in the mic. It is not a top sound but for the price it is fine. Perhaps not the best in its category, but it is bright green. You can also go for the black one, but you can also eat vegetables instead of shawarma and you don't want that either.
In the end I decide to keep the headphones, but to be honest, the sound could just be a bit better. I suspect that Razer is still in the Dubstep phase and therefore keeps the bass nice and loud and some will find this a plus.
