Commissioning the device for the first time is easy. First cleaned everything up and then got to work with the handy recipe booklet that was included.
The device is very handy. As a base, add flour to the device and the liquid (egg and other ingredients can be added later via the top. The latter is a bit tricky, because the liquid in combination with eggs is a bit thicker than normal. For me it would have been easier if this could have been added all at once.
Furthermore, it comes very closely with the ingredients that you have to add. This is also the case with pasta making by hand, but if you add too little or too much liquid, bad or no pasta will come out of the device. Philips includes a handy booklet with recipes for the device. Tried some of them, but unfortunately some failed. This may be due to the fact that I haven't owned the device for a long time.
Furthermore, when it works it is a very easy device. You add the ingredients and leave for a few minutes and the pasta will come out on its own. You have to stay with it for a while because you have to cut the pasta to your own size from the device. The pasta is very tasty and firm. This is not pasta that falls apart during cooking. Good quality!
Cleaning the device, on the other hand, is quite a lot of work and it is sometimes difficult to get into the corners. Dough is quite sticky (especially if you don't clean it immediately after use, it will become quite hard in the appliance).
In short, a solid and simple to use device that does exactly what it is made for, provided it is given the right proportions of ingredients. The pasta is very tasty and good quality! Cleaning is a little more work. If you often eat pasta, find homemade the best and don't feel like kneading, rolling and cutting it all yourself, this is the solution and highly recommended. Price-quality ratio is very good!!
