We had an inkjet printer for this. We don't print much at home and therefore suffer from ink cartridges that dried out and prints with stripes. To get rid of that, we bought a laser printer. We also wanted to be able to print and scan in color. I therefore compare the printer against the inkjet printer we had (Canon, could also scan/copy).

What I've never seen and therefore really disappoint is that all scans so far (both manually and with automatic input) yield skewed images! A rectangle becomes a parallelogram. The sides are neat but the tops and bottoms are slanted. (It seems to be forgotten that while reading the pixels from left to right, the scan bar moves (with manual scanning) or the paper moves (with automatic feed). And then you do get a parallelogram. You do not expect this from HP They've been making printer/scanners for a while now... Bring on that firmware update HP!

Not used very much yet. Results are probably what you can expect. Colors are less sparkling than inkjet. Printer is much heavier and makes quite a bit of noise compared to the old inkjet. But print quality seems to be okay. I haven't done extensive research on it, but it's certainly good enough for our home-garden-and-kitchen use.
