After a previous disappointing experience with the Netgear Arlo Pro (which I sent back because after 3 hours of trying I only managed to connect 1 of the 4 cameras to the base station), expectations were high again. Both systems get good reviews. My experience with the Netgear system was already a disappointment. Would this be different with the Logitech now?
Installing and using the 4 cameras was a stroke of luck: smoothly, quickly and without any problems. The 4 cameras were installed and placed in less than an hour. “Easy peasy” perfectly covers the charge here.
The system then worked flawlessly, at least for about 28 hours. After that, there was 1 of the 4 cameras that kept falling offline. Tried all possible solutions from the Logitech forum: reset, move closer to the router, connect to another router, reinstall,... To no avail! If I did manage to get the camera back online, it was only for a few minutes.
The least one can expect from an IP surveillance camera is that it is and remains online! Not so...
Frustrated and disappointed again disassembled the whole mess, packed everything back and also sent it back!
Are my bad experiences with IP cameras exemplary? I hope so... But a little wandering around on forums of various manufacturers does yield a lot of frustrated fellow (ex) users.
Conclusion: spend your money on something else! But whether that has to be a surveillance camera system... I don't think so! Or should I also give the Nest Cam or Cam IQ a chance?! They also get good reviews...
