According to our WiFi speaker expert
Enjoy clear sound with the Samsung VL350 in tight spaces. The speaker has a detachable control button with magnet. Place this button on a metal surface, such as your refrigerator and operate the speaker from your kitchen. Set the volume, skip songs or use voice commands while you're cooking. You stream music from a streaming service via the SmartThings app on your mobile or tablet. First connect the speaker to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth. Connect several Samsung speakers in your home with each other via the Group Play function in the app. This way you create a multi-room experience.

When receiving the package, the box immediately stood out. Compact and well packaged.
The box contained the Samsung box with the product.
The VL3 was layered in the box.
The first layer was the “puck” and the booklets. The “puck” is also called the controller.
Under the first layer was the actual VL3 wrapped. Neatly in protective foil.
The power adapter was packed under the speaker. What struck me about the AC adapter was the power cord. In old-fashioned style which you often see with irons.
What was also striking about the power adapter was the connector. Personally, I've never come across this one before.
The complete speaker, compact with a great "oldskool" design.
Connecting:
After unpacking comes the connection. There are various connection options. Wired, via WiFi or via Bluetooth. Connecting is really a piece of cake. It was easy to play music via a bluetooth connection with the Apple Macbook Pro. Enjoy via MP3 files, the high-quality FLAC files or via YouTube. It couldn't be easier. Of course it is also easy to make a bluetooth connection with the smartphone. In my case via a Huawei P9. Unfortunately the SmartThings app did not work on my Huawei. With a Samsung J5 2017, this almost went without saying. Service:
The operation of the VL3 is easy to do with the “puck”. Connect to the device of your choice, select and play music. The “puck” is easy to operate by turning. You can leave the “puck” on the speaker or take it with you to the place where you sit. The range between the VL3 and the “puck” is large enough to operate it, at least in my flat.
The sound:
The sound disappointed me at first. With the knowledge that speakers always have to play for about 100 hours, I knew it would take a while before the speaker 'releases'. From the time I had expensive brands at home, I always let the speakers play for quite some time. Now, a week later, with about 40 hours of listening to music, I already notice a difference with the beginning. The sound becomes a bit fuller and more to my taste. Keeping in mind that it is a compact speaker, the VL3 gives a decent sound. Although you should not expect too much bass. Unfortunately, the VL3 always needs a power cord so you are fairly limited in mobility.
