According to our smartwatch expert
The Garmin Vivosmart 4 is an activity tracker with a stylish design. The slim band in combination with the metal accent gives the tracker a chic appearance. In addition to a built-in heart rate sensor, the Vivosmart 4 also has a stress and energy meter. With this the tracker advises you when it is best to work out or to take a break. In addition, the Vivosmart 4 measures all your daily activities, displays notifications from your smartphone and you wear it for about 7 days without recharging.
Note: you will not receive an adapter. Do you want to charge the watch via the power outlet? Then order an adapter.

I bought the garmin vivosmart 4 a month ago, after long hesitation. On my list was also the fitbit charge 3 (or 4). Now that I've been using it for a month I can say with certainty that I'm glad I bought this and not a fitbit! In addition to the price difference, I see many other advantages. The most important points for me to choose this one were the size of the strap/watch case, the body battery, and the stress meter. The strap is nice and narrow, and fits well around the wrist. After a day or 2 I no longer felt that I was wearing an activity tracker during the day and at night! Furthermore, the body battery and stress meter are very nice, because I tend to want to do too much in one day. With these two functions I started to pay more attention to myself (especially how I build in rest every day). I also use the tracker to count how many laps I've swum during training, to see how I've cycled or run, and to track my workouts at home. The tracker does this all very well! I'm just an athlete who does everything for fun and doesn't take it too seriously, so I don't know how this Garmin performs with those who are looking for perfect measurements and who participate in top sports. But for the average user who likes to move, it is highly recommended!!
Finally, many other reviews state that the screen is too small to read messages: that may be correct. But that's not what it's meant for. I use it more to quickly see who is texting me and why, but don't expect to read whole stories with it. It just means you don't have to reach for your phone as much, which will hopefully come in handy when the academic year starts again! While swimming, this small screen can be a bit more annoying, because you have to tap a little more to see how many laps you have already done during your training. He sometimes tends to add or miss 2 to 4 lanes in the count, especially if you don't swim front crawl all the time. Anyway, if you want to keep up with that perfectly, you might have to look at other trackers. For me, a casual water polo player, this is fine. At the very end of the training he might be 2 jobs off, but luckily you can work that out. You can also control music with it. For those with spotify: start the song on your phone, and then you can fast forward and pause with the tracker. Very nice function now that you are not allowed to cycle with your phone in your hand!!
Other things I'm very happy with are the sleep tracking, intensity minutes per week and calorie counter. It seems to match up well with what I kept myself for the first few days. You can also connect to your phone while walking or cycling, so that it saves your route with GPS! Very nice feature.
In short: for those who like to keep an eye on yourself a bit more and move around, this is the perfect option. The watch is not bulky, fits nicely on the wrist, and has enough different functionalities to make you happy!

Gives good insight into your day, secretly you move more than you think and I like that it automatically adjusts your goals.

Very satisfied with my Vivosmart 4. More convenient to use than the Fitbit Charge 3.
