I purchased this unit as an upgrade for a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6. A great improvement in sound and ease of use! It is a rock solid box with all the essential connections. The only thing I would like to see right now is a MIDI in and out. However, I can solve that differently. The most important aspect of the UAD maps is the world of plugins behind them. The first impression is that this really adds value. So you not only pay for a good AD/DA converter, but also for access to high-quality software for recording and mixing.

In my case I went for a Thunderbolt 2 version. Be aware that you also have to score a cable of 4-5 tens. But it's definitely worth it!

PS: The first unit I got froze while updating the firmware, unable to move. But thanks to Coolblue's fast service, I was completely up and running again within 2 days.
