Product Expert printers

The Canon Pixma TS9150 is an all-in-one inkjet printer especially designed for printing photos. Thanks to the 6 individual cartridges, you can print photos with deep colors and lovely details, without borders. The photo blue and pigment black ink ensure high-quality prints, for example. Thanks to the separate input tray for photo paper, you can print your photos on photo paper without having to change paper when you want to print regular documents. The printer is compact and features a large touchscreen that lets you operate it.

Note: do you want to print a photo on photo paper? Place the back (with the logo) up in the printer.

"Vastly inferior to previous PIxma printers"

Wim De Hert | 22 November 2019

  • Pros:
    Reasonably fast two-sided printing
  • Con:
Can't print a format that's not in the tray, so it goes through four steps each time you need to print a Letter format on an A4 size
  • Con:
Scans randomly as .pdf or .jpg, depending on its mood
  • Con:
Powers off quickly, or fails if you leave it on for a couple days

Setting the printer up for scanning is a chore. It's unclear how to scan from the printer itself or use the computer dialog. Scan format seems to be randomly determined or has to be set up manually each time. If you wish to print a letter format on an A4, it borks and sends you through several steps before you can finally cancel (previous versions printed on the wrong paper without prompting). It's unclear which tray it will be using, and the tray itself sticks out awkwardly. It feels flimsy and replacing paper makes you feel as if you're breaking it apart. Right now, the power light switched off and the thing won't power up again.
