"Too loud for the amount of cooling it provides"

Tobi Smethurst | 28 July 2019

  • Con:
    Super duper loud
  • Con:
Only lowered room temp a few degrees
  • Con:
Short hose means you need to put it right under or next to the window

I tried this product out during the heatwave of July 2019, when temps in Belgium were hitting 40 degrees. I was hoping to get the temperature in my room down to livable levels.

Set up the conditioning unit as recommended, near my window, with the hose sticking out. As soon as I turned the unit on, I was disappointed: it's so noisy! In the description on here, it's mentioned that it's 'roughly the same noise level as a fridge'. Maybe some kind of huge industrial fridge? Anyway, it panicked my cats and made my TV inaudible, and it only managed to cool my room by a couple degrees for all that.

If this was a 400 euro unit I could live with it, but for 700 euros not so much, and I ended up arranging for the product to be returned.

Bottom line: I don't recommend this in a living room or any space where you need to be able to hear yourself think. Certainly it would be impossible to sleep while this thing is on, so I can't recommend it for a bedroom either. Perhaps for a garage or a workroom it would be fine. Be warned!
