As a tenant, we found an extractor hood 17 years ago that recently broke down. As it turns out: Little light and a lot of noise and moderate suction power. The ETNA AP260RVS is a relief: pleasantly quiet on position 1, which already moves enough air. If it smells very bad, you can put it on position 3 and then you will feel the air movement. In 2 minutes the stench is gone in our closed kitchen. The LED lamps provide more than enough light so that you can see everything well. The noise at position 1 should only be 40 dB, but measured with decibelX it is 60 dB. That is the same as the old extractor hood. Still, I experience the sound as pleasant because I don't have to raise my voice when talking, which I had to with the old one. Perhaps that has to do with the fact that the sound mainly has low tones and is quieter in the higher frequencies. All hoods are made of quite thin material and that caused a lot of chagrin when opening the box: the first time it was so badly damaged on delivery that it was unusable and had to be returned. The second time there was "just" a dent in one point, which is not nice but not so bad that I still felt like sending it back.
