After receiving the Cake Factory, the first reaction was that it is a nice compact device. Also suitable for the small kitchen, student without an oven or camping. Daughter liked the bright pink color, you have to love that. No viewing window to keep an eye on your baking.
There are 3 baking tins included, so you can get started quickly. A separate container for melting chocolate/butter would have been useful, because you are now using the large baking pan. The recipe booklet contains a number of recipes to test the different functions. Unfortunately, it contains many (translation) errors and a novice baker should certainly not expect a step-by-step manual. In the app you will find about 200 extensive recipes and the refrigerator stock function that we also saw earlier with the blender.
Then baking. Maybe I expected too much from it. Despite not preheating, most recipes take longer than usual. You can now, for example, quickly make 1 or 2 small cakes, something I really don't use the normal oven for. The appliance does get warm on the outside/top during use, but not scalding hot. The device switches off neatly after completion and notification. We do miss the specific smell of pastries that are in the oven.
The baking result is certainly influenced by the bottom heat and small space, which makes the pastry darker and smooth/hard on the underside and quite compact. The melting function for chocolate and butter works fine, but you do this in the large baking pan that you often also need for the recipe. So quickly a cup of soap in between or find a suitable container yourself.
I tested the function for shared pastry with my own recipe for biscuit (haircut), it tasted and smelled mainly of egg and could not rise sufficiently. I also put a biscuit of the same batter in my normal oven at the same time, which was as it should be. I tested the function for 1-person cakes with lemon cakes and lava cakes. Unfortunately, the latter no longer had a liquid inside after the set time of the automatic program. The taste was good though. I also lent the device for a day to my parents who made a low-carb diet and cottage cheese muffins with banana and strawberry. Where these normally remain quite wet, they now turned out to be excellent baking. However, 5 minutes extra baking time is required after the program has ended.
