I think the Incase ICON Sleeve Woolenex for MacBook has a nice and simplistic look. Thanks to the bumpers on the inside, my MacBook remains protected against bumps. The magnetic closure instead of a zipper also works very nicely. It closes well and keeps the cover slim. In addition, I do not feel that my MacBook easily slides out of the cover. It is a pity that the cover does not keep my Mac dry during a rain shower.
Protect bumpers against a knock
When you hold the Incase cover for the first time, something stands out. The cover is very slim, but still feels quite sturdy. The secret is the shock-absorbing bumpers on the inside. Incase calls this Tensearlite with a luxurious word. Nobody knows what this means. But they certainly protect. If you lightly hit the sides of the cover, you'll notice that the sturdy bumpers absorb your blows. These bumpers will not protect against falls from a great height, but they certainly protect against putting your bag with your MacBook in it too hard.
A practical magnetic closure
Most covers have a zipper. Some manufacturers go so far as to close their tight covers with bright yellow zippers in the strangest shapes. Then such a magnetic closure looks a lot tighter. I was worried that a magnet wouldn't hold my MacBook in place. A zipper is on paper a lot more solid than a magnet. In practice this is different. The magnetic closure not only keeps the case slimmer and more simplistic than a zipper, but it also keeps my MacBook in place. It closes tight and my MacBook doesn't slip out of the case.
The Woolenex material: a mix of wool and polyester
Incase has also come up with a nice marketing term for the material of the cover: Woolenex. This is a material that only Incase uses. It is actually a mix of wool and polyester and that looks very nice. You can see the weaving movements in the cover and that looks less mechanical and chemical than the foam that many other covers are made of. This gives the cover a luxurious look. Woolenex is not as waterproof as, for example, leather or plastic. So I can't use this cover on a hike through a downpour without putting it in a water-resistant backpack first.
