After 10+ years of using a Marantz SR5002 in combination with 5.1 Monitor Audio Radius speakers, the Marantz had to be replaced.
Finally decided to buy this receiver because the price difference of about €400 with the X3700H was not worth it to me. Audyssey's version is a lot better on the X3700H but that doesn't mean XT is bad I thought.
Everything was quickly connected (Computer, Nintendo Switch, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Chromecast) and then looped through to my Panasonic VT60. It took about 10 minutes to set up with Audyssey and after that everything worked for me right away. And what a difference with my Marantz! Despite missing my subwoofer (being fixed at the time of writing), the sound is much fuller and more spacious. My speakers seem completely new and I honestly did not expect such a big difference.
A small downside is that at lower volumes some movies or TV content require a bit more experimentation with the settings to get it right. Voices are then difficult to understand and background music is too loud or too present. Fortunately, there are several ways to remedy this, but it does take some time and effort to do this to your liking.
I can't wait to start testing with the subwoofer, great receiver for the money.

After purchasing a new TV, the 15-year-old amplifier was no longer up to date, so I started to miss more and more new functions and techniques. So looking for a new one that was more in line with the possibilities of the TV. This is one of the more economical choices that can handle 4K 120Hz TVs, is equipped with eARC, Dolby Atmos, DTS and is flexible in the speakers to be connected (7.1 or 5.1.2 etc.).
