After the physical installation, setting up the connection is a breeze. However, if you have included the rechargeable batteries, the installation should not take too long. Regular batteries are also included, so you can possibly complete the installation with them before you put the rechargeable one in. After installing the software, the device asks for an update. This can take up to an hour. It's important that you don't interrupt this process, but considering my rechargeable batteries came in at 3%, that was a bit exciting. The batteries cannot be charged until you have installed the firmware. Also, many functions are only available after this update. Finally, I can say that I am very satisfied with this lock. Basically it just does what it's supposed to do and if you want to tinker more you can try the experimental features. And if you don't set a pin code and your phone is empty... well then you are outside, but perhaps there is a neighbor where you can charge 3% to open your door..
