The iRobot Combo i8 is super easy to use and cleans my floors just the way I like it. However, mopping does require some actions and I miss an empty station.
Easy to use
When I open the package, I immediately find instructions for setting up the robot. I download the app and find the steps to start the robot. I place the charging station according to the instructions and start the first ride. For example, the robot immediately maps my house itself.
Extensive app
After the first round, the robot automatically drives back to the charging station. In the app I get a message that the map of my house is ready. If I want to change something myself, I can do that right away. Now the robot knows exactly which room is where and which obstacles there are. I can now set cleaning schedules and choose which rooms the robot cleans at what time. Even within a room I can choose additional zones where the robot cleans more thoroughly. Or I choose no-go zones where the robot does not come. In addition, the app also provides seasonal suggestions. For example, for extra cleaning during the hay fever season. Even outside the home, for example when I'm in the supermarket, I still control the robot.
Good cleaning result
My floors are really neat and clean after the robot is done. My carpet looks good again. Only when there are really many obstacles does the robot sometimes miss a piece. Furthermore, the robot takes every corner well. It drives along all the walls at the end of the cleaning so that the side brush goes along the skirting board. If I also attach the mop to the robot, it will wipe my floors. This way it removes just a little extra dirt. To do this, you must first place the water reservoir. I also have to set a no-go zone for my carpet, so that the robot does not drive over it with the mop.
No empty station
When the built-in dust container is full, I immediately receive a notification via the app. With the push of a button I remove the dust container from the robot. I empty this above the trash. The robot now stops cleaning for a while. I regret this, because I now have to step in myself. Fortunately, there is also a Combo i8+ with an empty drive. The robot then automatically empties its dust container when it is full.
