This Samsung RS62DG5003S9EF American refrigerator has more than enough space for all my groceries. I also never have to defrost it and I quickly have ice cubes for my drink.
Space and layout
When I opened the doors of this American refrigerator, I was immediately impressed by the space. This refrigerator is very suitable for large quantities of groceries. The cooling compartment is behind the right door. I divide my groceries here over the 4 plateaus. It doesn't matter where in the refrigerator I put my cheese, milk or pastries. The All Around Cooling system keeps the entire refrigerator equally cool. The door also has very spacious door pockets. This is ideal for my tall bottles of soda and juice. There are 2 spacious vegetable drawers at the bottom of the refrigerator. These are higher and wider than I am used to and open easily without getting stuck.
Freezer section
The freezer compartment is behind the left door. This side is slightly narrower than the cooling section, but here too there is no shortage of space. I put my frozen meals and a box of bitterballen in the freezer drawers at the bottom of the freezer. That fits easily here. The only thing I regret is that the freezer drawers are not spacious enough for a pizza box. That's why I put these on the shelves. This fits easily and here I stack several on top of each other. I divide the rest of my groceries over the 3 shelves. I also have plenty of storage space in the door pockets. A bag of fries or a box of ice cream fits comfortably here.
Ice maker
Thanks to the ice maker in the freezer compartment, I quickly have ice cubes available for a nice cold drink. By filling the ice cube tray with water, after a while I have 18 ice cubes. I turn the handy knob on the front half a turn to the right and all the blocks fall into the container below. I fill the mold again and end up with a full container of ice cubes. Handy for a hot summer day or when you just fancy a glass of ice-cold drink.
SmartThings
A refrigerator with WiFi, at first I didn't see the point of that, but now that I use it I find it super handy. I connect the refrigerator to the Samsung SmartThings app on my smartphone via the QR code on the inside. With the app I can remotely activate holiday mode and get more control over my energy consumption via AI Energy. I really like this, because with energy class E, this model is not very energy efficient.
