I use the purchased speakers to upgrade the poor sound of my flat screen TV, without having to use a very expensive installation. Very easy connection via the headphone plug of the TV. The difference in quality is sensational. The sound is very full, without any background noise. The speech is also very intelligible. So it may not be comparable to a surround system, but if it is only to improve the can sound of the original TV speakers, these speakers are certainly more than worth their money. I also like that this system can be used without a subwoofer, which again would take up more space.
