After years of using a 5.1 set from Logitech, I decided to look for a 2.1 set. At first I was a bit hesitant, because I was very used to the 5.1 sound, and afraid that a replacement would not be an improvement.... how different it turned out! First of all, the set looks well cared for, and the design appeals to me. The speakers themselves are light (and fairly large), but they do feel solid. The subwoofer itself is made of wood, and therefore heavier, but still quite light. All in all, it looks solid and sleekly designed. Also handy is the supplied remote control (which is attached to the subwoofer with a cable, by the way). With this remote control you can control the volume with a large rotary knob, and you can also connect a headset to it, and an MP3 player / telephone, etc. On the back of the subwoofer are 2 rotary knobs, 1 for the volume, and 1 for the bass. . You can therefore tune this at will, until the sound is on for you. There is also a button for a power saving mode that you can turn on or off, and of course the on/off button. As for the positioning of the buttons, in my case it would have been a bit easier if they had been on the side of the subwoofer, not the back. To get to it now, I first have to slide the computer table forward. Connecting the set to the PC is not difficult at all, and in my case the PC recognized the set immediately.
Then the sound, because that is of course the main reason for the purchase! What struck me immediately was how well the different sounds come out. Both the low tones and the high tones, and the mid-range ... something that was not always good with the 5.1 set. It all sounds very natural and warm, and the bass wasn't too overpowering for me either. You can of course also adjust this to your taste on the subwoofer itself. The volume is also fine in my opinion, the set is here in a not too large space, so they don't have to be too loud. I did fill them in for a while, but that didn't disappoint me (maybe the neighbors all the more). I have to say that I didn't buy this set for games, but more for playing music. I haven't watched a movie yet, with these new speakers...but as far as the music is concerned, I can wholeheartedly recommend this 2.1 set to everyone!
