According to our SLR camera expert
The Sony Alpha SLT-A77II is a single-lens reflex camera with a large 24.3-megapixel sensor. The fast image processor allows you to shoot 12 images per second. It offers a combination of large files and a high fps, making it the ideal choice for wildlife and sports photographers. Thanks to the large number of focus points and fast autofocus, you can easily record Full HD videos with the Sony Alpha SLT-A77II. The magnesium body is dustproof and splash proof, so you won't have to stop taking photos as a result of bad weather. Thanks to the 3-inch tiltable touchscreen, the controls are bright and clear. The camera is equipped with WiFi and NFC, allowing you to share your files quicker.

After working with a NEX-7 for a few years, I returned to SLR with the purchase of this Alpha 77ii. The possibilities are very extensive, fully compatible with previously purchased Sony flash (HVL-FM58) using an adapter. Focusing is very fast and accurate. Sending photos via Wifi is a nice option, I actually no longer connect the camera with a cable, the SD card has not been removed since the purchase.
I find the limitation of the usage time for FullHD filming very unfortunate, because that's what I had actually bought the camera for, and unfortunately I only came across this limitation in the user manual. Due to heat development in the camera, filming is limited to a maximum of about 29 minutes, while I sometimes film performances that last up to two hours. Unfortunately I can't use the camera for that.
The first reason for purchase was photography, and I am very satisfied with it so far.

I bought this camera with the vertical control grip. Looks heavy, but in practice this is not so bad, even with two batteries in the VCG. The autofocus works very fast The electronic viewfinder is of course very bright, which initially gives a misleading image of your subject (it can be darker), but the fact that the image can be displayed well also means that the camera sees enough light. I didn't really need the 24MPixels, 14-18MPixels are more than enough for most applications, and fewer pixels also means less noise (although even at 24MPixels the camera isn't bothered much by it).
The "ADI" (artificial horizon and tilt indicator) is only visible in the viewfinder, not on the LCD, while using the LCD makes it more difficult to keep the camera neatly horizontal
During a first use (650 photos) there were some that were curiously taken at a lower resolution, twice a short series. Can you accidentally lower the resolution temporarily? I do not think so. Bug in the software?
