According to our headphones expert
You want to enjoy beautiful music in all calmness. This is possible with the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Wireless. The active noise-canceling makes sure you're not bothered by crying babies on the plane, or ladies that are making phone calls on the train. Wirelessly stream music via Bluetooth. On top of that, the headband can be adjusted, so the headphones fits both of you. Does 1 of you have a phone without Bluetooth? Thanks to the included cable, you can also use the Momentum 2.0 Wireless with a cable.

The Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Wireless Over Ear Black are great headphones, which I enjoy and will enjoy every day. The user experience is great, partly due to the handy case that allows you to store cables. I would recommend these headphones to anyone who wants to get the most out of comfort, design and ease of use and is willing to pay for this total package.
-The pluses: The headphones have a very nice timeless design, feel sturdy and can easily be worn for hours. The battery is very good (Sennheiser promises 22 hours of music time) and there is the option of wired listening when the battery is empty, so even if the battery is empty the music can continue. When you use this function, the headphones do not filter out the sound. He does this when the headphones have still charged the battery, and the experience is sublime. Disturbing ambient noise is filtered out, while the phone sits comfortably on the head and the audio quality is not compromised.
The headphones are neatly packed and come with a soft case in which they can be folded, furthermore there is a storage bag, so that is double protection against scratches and bumps. What I personally find very useful about the case is that I have my USB cable + audio cable in it. This way I always have the option to listen to music when the battery is empty, and I can charge the headphones via the laptop when it is (almost) empty.
Phone calls can be accepted and even declined via the headphones, of course the volume can be controlled via the headphones and is synchronized with the phone (if you turn the volume up, it also goes up on the phone and vice versa).
It is remarkable that it is not synchronized with a PC or laptop. Then the sound is ''separate'' from each other, and you can, for example, set the headphones to maximum sound and control the sound via the PC for ease of use (or vice versa depending on your preference).
Still, it is very nice to be able to have two Bluetooth devices connected at the same time. The Sennheiser can remember up to eight devices and run two devices simultaneously. For example, if you're listening to music on your phone and your laptop starts up, it connects directly to the laptop (after you've set it up the first time, of course). When you then listen to a video on YouTube via your laptop, the music on your phone stops, and you hear the sound of the laptop. When you stop the video again, the music continues where it left off. Very nice that no buttons have to be pressed and the headphones can simply remain on your head, this ensures a great user experience!
-The negatives: The headphones are very pricey, which is a shame given the fact that you don't get a wall charger supplied. You only get a micro USB cable that you can plug into a computer or laptop as a USB. Fortunately, this cable is universal, and chances are that your smartphone can be charged via the same cable. In many cases, this still provides the option of charging the Sennheiser via the wall socket. Unfortunately, the future is probably USB-C; time will show how annoying it is to have a separate cable for the Sennheiser. Because the headphones are charged with micro USB instead of USB-C, it takes about 2 to 3 hours before they are completely full.
I would advise against exercising with these headphones; when you exercise outside and it starts to rain you have a problem because it is not waterproof. If you are looking for this, there are other options such as the Sennheiser travel or headphones or earphones from other manufacturers. The headphones are clearly aimed at people who travel or work in an environment with disruptive noise.
Furthermore, I found the ear cushion in the ear cups to feel a bit thin, time will tell if it is strong enough to last. The headphones come standard with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty. It's a Sennheiser, so I'm hopeful it will last a long time!

I haven't tested many headphones yet to have a reference, but for me the sound quality is sublime and the bass feels great too. All tones are nicely balanced.
When you turn on the headphones, the noise cancellation (NC) is always on. If you don't have music on you will hear a very very soft noise, but I believe that is with most NC headphones and I also think that most people don't even hear or notice this, I have very sensitive ears. But it didn't really bother me either. With music on, you can't hear any of this at all. The advantage of these headphones is that you can continue to listen wired when the battery is empty. Because it is over-ear, you already have enough passive noise attenuation, so unless there is disturbing ambient noise, you don't really need to wear the NC.
What I did notice in the beginning is that when I turned on the NC (= turn on headphones) during wired listening, the sound sounded just a bit fuller and also a bit louder compared to pure wired (without NC or amplification). Perhaps simply because with less ambient noise the music sounds relatively louder, just think of how loud the radio in the car sounds when you have just driven on the motorway and turned it up a bit to still hear the music. So it seems to me that you can save some money with the NC on your ears.
To give you an idea of the NC, of course it's not 100% noise-canceling and there may be headphones that do better, but it was enough for me. You don't hear conversations around you when you listen to the music, but you do hear a bit when you focus on the conversation. Continuous monotonous signals, such as an extractor hood (and I suppose) an aircraft engine, are filtered out very well. For the record, when it's turned off it still sounds great.
Unfortunately, my mobile's BT didn't work, so I haven't really been able to test that feature, so I can't tell the difference between with or without a cable. But I assume that this all works smoothly and that there is little to no loss of quality.
The controls of the headphones are located in a very intuitive place and the on/off/pairing/louder/quieter are also easy to operate. Of course, the more advanced functions require a little more effort to remember the timed combinations of two buttons. The manual also falls short on this and you will have to search online for a more extensive one (http://en-us.sennheiser.com/global-downloads/file/4900/M2_AEBT_EN.pdf). To go back into pairing mode after pairing the headphones to a device (to pair another device, for example), you have to hold the power button for a few seconds longer when switching on. The voice then first says "power on" and a little later "pairing".
Accessories: there is indeed an airplane adapter included. In addition to the jack cable (without control) and micro USB charging cable, a silk soft bag and a semi-hard case are also included. Not a real hard case, but sturdy enough to protect it against pressure in, for example, a backpack. The case, on the other hand, does take up a lot of space, but it is also an over-ear headphone. You can fold it, which was not possible with the previous generation. It is also nice that in the "hard" case there is a compartment (net) where you can put the cables etc in, so that not everything falls out when you unzip the case.
The only drawback is that the headphones strain quite hard and that the shells are not very deep. As a result, the inside of my ears presses against my ears, so that after an hour it starts to hurt. That is why I returned it to Coolblue with a heavy heart. For the time being I don't have any other in mind as I fear that they will never match this Sennheiser in terms of design, sound quality and specs.

I work in an open office space and therefore a lot of environmental noise and noise. And I normally have a bluetooth headset for telephony for 2 telephones (gsm and dect). What happened is that I don't hear any noise anymore. And when I receive a call, I can answer immediately and the conversation is very clear.
When my colleagues ask something, I hear exactly what they are saying through the noise canceling. So I don't have to buy the Sennheiser. In addition, you no longer hear the buzzing of PCs/fridges or noise from your colleagues.... For all HSPs among us, a super invention!!
When it's a bit quieter, I can also play music where a lot of detail is audible and a nice bass.
The only downside in my use is that at a certain point I do feel pressure on my skull near the ear cups. But then I walk almost all day with this fine device!
Invention of the century!!
