At first I was satisfied with the taste of the coffee, but it went completely wrong when making milk foam. When following the manual, the milk quickly started to boil and splashed in all directions with all the dangers that entailed. I got hardly any milk foam, only boiled milk. Then I called Coolblue and immediately got a new one sent. Perfect service! However, the new device did exactly the same! Then I called Philips and they tried very hard to help me but did not know this problem. I was allowed to send the device in so they could investigate the problem. I thought about ordering another appliance (without a steam pipe) but first I did some research on the reviews of this machine and other espresso machines with steam pipes. Then I discovered that I was certainly not the only one with this "problem". Several reviews said the milk was up to the ceiling, but one review said it took quite a bit of practice to get the foam right, but it worked in the end. Then I googled and did a search on YouTube to see if maybe I was doing something wrong, and maybe it should be something different than described in the manual. That indeed turns out to be the case! It takes some practice, but with the right tips and tricks it is now possible to get good milk froth with the device.
The manual really falls short on this and it is also not correct what it says. It tells you to raise and lower the pitcher in circular motions and then continue until the foam is the desired thickness. If you do this, it will not go well.
Via the link below you can see how it should be done and that way it goes well indeed!

I made a delicious cappuccino and latte and I am completely satisfied.
Also really use a milk jug that is intended for making milk foam, that also makes a huge difference.
Now I am completely satisfied!!

For a fully automatic machine that makes such a great espresso for this price, this is a great buy. How can you tell that it is a budget machine:
It may look nice in the photo, but in reality it is all plastic that seems to be made from melted down Senseo devices. It's just not very solid. Not a disaster, but it doesn't seem built for eternity.
When you press the buttons, the whole button unit moves a bit; it has play relative to the housing.
The coffee (not the espresso) is not really hot, just warm. The best way to overcome this is by first heating the cups (which are not preheated by the device, because it does not have a warming tray) with hot water from the hot water tap. Do the same with the espresso.
If you use a small cup, you can pull down the coffee outflow channels; but unfortunately not far enough, causing the coffee/espresso to cool down unnecessarily and causing it to splash quite a bit. For the small, classic espresso cups, the outflow channels cannot be pulled down far enough. It is best to hold the cups by hand as close to the outlet as possible.
Do you just want to serve very good espresso/coffee and don't care that you can't show off at parties with a shiny, exotic machine for 1500 euros or more? Then this is the machine for you.
I am very happy with it and I take the above minuses for granted.
