This product is exactly what I was looking for to connect additional devices to my MacBook Pro when I'm working at home. Two extra displays (one via HDMI on this device, one via HDMI from MacBook itself), a lot more USB 3.0, and Ethernet.

Although this device has an external power supply, the USB ports are not always powered. So, for example, you can't charge your phone if your computer is not connected to the dock.

Also note: despite the HDMI port and the extra Thunderbolt port, you can only use either HDMI or Displayport. Not both at the same time.
