My first "on ear" headphones: I was tired of the "in ears" and was looking for a light headphone to play sports with, of course bluetooth because the fumbling with wires and associated wire breaks is very frustrating.
The Hellas stands out because of the plastic, so light, frame and the washable pads/headband. Ordered and as usual super fast delivery from Coolblue for which kudos!
The headphones come folded out of the packaging and included is a handy washing bag for the pads/headband! The headphones are nice and light and quickly charged: about 2 hours and the battery is full. I don't know how long it will last, but the website itself says about 14 hours. We will see.
Connecting to a BT device may be a bit of a puzzle since the manual is not completely clear, but once that is done it connects very quickly with the device (in my case a Philips MP3 player). The player goes in the pocket and I don't have to look at it anymore.
What is striking is the sound: I am not an audiophile but I think the sound is fine, good bass too. (have adjusted the settings on MP3 player). It is an open design, so outside noise can be heard slightly, but not disturbing in my opinion.
What is very nice is the controls on the right earcup: volume up/down and track forward or back or pause works fine. Even recording a conversation seems to be possible, but I don't use that function. What might take some getting used to is that the controls are quite sensitive: a few times I was busy with the towel to get rid of the sweat and that you accidentally tap the shell: bam! next song. It will take some getting used to.
The headphones are also fine and due to the minimal weight you don't really notice them, they sit fairly tight on your head so running shouldn't be a problem. What may irritate is the fabric of the ear cushions: it is a mesh-like material that feels special on the ear, so far had sessions of about 1.5 hours and that is fine, but I can't imagine that everyone likes the material.
Afterwards, fold the ear cups and wash the cushions/headband if necessary and it is ready for the next round of sports.
All in all, a very nice pair of headphones and I can actually recommend them to every athlete.
