First off, this is my third Onkyo in a row. Pros:
Some complain that it has become a large, clumsy device, but I think it is not that bad on sight. Its (slightly) larger size is useful to reduce heat build-up in the receiver. This is certainly important since there have been complaints about HDMI board defects in the past. Many people have placed their receiver in a (closed) furniture cabinet and the Onkyo receivers got really warm because of high power in a "reasonably compact" housing, without active cooling. Putting a high-power device (without active cooling) in a "closed" furniture cabinet is obviously asking for problems. Because I place all my receivers on top, I have not had any problems with defective HDMI ports so far. And unlike my previous Onkyo receivers, this one doesn't get "hot" but lukewarm. This is due to its larger housing.
