According to our mobile phone expert
You can take beautiful pictures with the 2 cameras of 12 and 20 megapixels on the back of the Huawei P10 Plus. Optic image stabilization ensures your snapshots are sharp, even if you move your phone. Even the videos you shoot are sharp, with a resolution of 4K. You can view your own creations and those of others comfortably and in great detail on the 5.5-inch Quad HD screen. The internal memory of 128GB has enough space for your pictures, apps, and music. Do you also want to switch quickly between apps? You can with the P10 Plus, thanks to the 6GB RAM.

As an experienced smartphone user with a preference for (near-) stock android, I was once persuaded to purchase a Huawei. This after some recent disappointments with Nokia and OnePlus. Huawei was known to me as a manufacturer of relatively cheap phones with a carnival-like software layer over Android, but that would have changed by now, so I gave it a shot...
DESIGN The P10 plus just looks good. Not super original, but nice. The metal back is a real eye-catcher. That's why I immediately put it in a nice case. (Huawei offers really nice cases with fabric or leather upholstery!) At least that can't be broken. The front is, as seems to be the norm nowadays, very sober and anonymous. The buttons are in a logical place and the power button has a playful red edge. All in all it has done its best on the design.
BUILD QUALITY The metal back makes the P10 Plus feel solid. The buttons are also sturdy and pleasant to operate. However .... the metal back is warped on me and I'm not one to put his phone in his pocket, so how this is possible is a question mark.
CAMERA The camera has a Leica label. Now I read somewhere that they are not real Leica cameras, but cameras according to certain specifications that are not built by Leica itself, but on which Huawei can stick the Leica label for a fee. Leica seems to close more such deals, including with Panasonic. But, does that detract from the camera? No, no and again no. The cameras are really very good! They are not inferior to, for example, the Samsung S7 that I have had in the past. The cameras and also the extensive accompanying software are definitely the strongest point of the P10 Plus.
GENERAL IMPRESSION OF USE The P10 Plus has impressive specs on paper with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. I expected a racing monster, just like the OnePlus 5 (with the same memory specifications as the Huawei), but it just isn't. It just works smoothly and stays that way, even with heavier use, but I can't call it a speed sensation. It feels normal and fairly stable in that regard.
The software (Android in Huawei EMUI jacket) is quite good. As a stock Android enthusiast, I usually didn't really bother. Unfortunately, the system sometimes seems to have a glitch, so that notifications sometimes come through and sometimes don't. Huawei has made some tweaks to Android in terms of settings and not all of the choices made are mine, but nevertheless, the average user will simply find it pleasant. I'm convinced of that.
In addition to the camera, the P10 Plus has another piece of hardware on board: the fingerprint scanner. It's incredibly fast and accurate. many brands can learn from this (such as Samsung).
BATTERY Actually, I'm never such a whiner when it comes to battery life. If I get through the day a bit, I usually do fine. I try to apply a careful charging policy so that the battery lasts a long time. In addition, I am a freak when it comes to fine-tuning a phone, so that unnecessary use is made of apps in the background as little as possible. I throw unnecessary apps off the phone, or turn them off. I usually achieve good results with that, but the Huawei P10 Plus is really disappointing on that point.
The battery is not really small, but I just can't manage to sing the day out on a charge. Then I don't even have to game or stream. Just browsing and reading mail usually kills him before the end of the day. If battery life is important to you, I wouldn't recommend this phone.
CONCLUSION The Huawei P10 Plus is a smartphone with a few very strong sides. In particular, the camera and fingerprint scanner are very good. He also looks nice. However, I have also found some negatives (build quality, battery) that are quite a downer. Set the whole against the price of (at the time) € 699 for a Huawei, which is not small, and I still get a somewhat disappointing price/quality ratio.
That's why I wouldn't recommend the P10 Plus without hesitation. Not recommended either; He's just too good for that in some ways. It's a personal consideration of what you do and don't have high on your priority list.

Very happy with the purchase of the huawei P10 plus... Before this I had the huawei mate 8, it took some getting used to the Emui Shell that Huawei uses for Android, but after a while I can't get used to stock Android. The huawei P10 plus is incredibly responsive and the screen is very sharp and bright. The phone fits comfortably in the hand and the switch from micro USB to USB Connector is really great... A bit of a shame that I can no longer use the 300 chargers and cables in the house, but still very happy with the USB C ... Storage capacity in combination with a micro SD it is really impossible to get full... even if you fill the phone completely, it still responds fine... I still haven't discovered any bad things about the phone... Maybe the price ( on the expensive side for a smartphone) but in this price range I would still choose the P10 plus.

Just very happy with it. Came off the Nexus 6P, thought the Pixel was too expensive, and this is a really great alternative. Price / quality is perfectly fine.
