It heats up quickly and you can optionally activate the built-in fan for faster heat distribution, but then of course it makes some noise and it's because it's a silent convector that I bought this, so I hardly use it. A downside is that there is no general on/off switch. You turn off the heating by setting the selector switch to 0 watts. The fan can still run and you have to turn it off with a separate switch. The selector switch for the 4 heating levels feels a bit vague. You don't immediately feel whether you should turn left or right by touch. It feels like you could easily break it.
