Apple now also has mouse control on the iPhone and iPad (iOS13). Android has had it for much longer. It was easy to connect a cable there. USB simply to the socket of the device.

Apple also has an adapter. USB simply to lightning (Or with the pro USB c). I have the original one from Apple with lightning connection, so you can charge it while using it. The original adapter is not cheap €44.99. I don't think it's just a plug, but it does have some electronics in it. When I connected the cable, there was an update for the adapter. In the beginning my mouse didn't work very well, now (I think after the update) it works flawlessly.

Before you can use the mouse, you must first enable AssistiveTouch in the settings. A square will then appear. When you connect the mouse afterwards, a circle appears. That's the mouse pointer. If you unplug the mouse and plug it back in, the mouse will work right away. You can even assign functions to the mouse buttons.
