Description

The ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ is a 27-inch QHD gaming monitor designed for shooters and other fast games. Thanks to the high refresh rate of 165Hz, the screen refreshes at lightning speed. As a result, you'll have fewer problems with image stutter. Ghosting is also a thing of the past, thanks to the 1ms response time. In addition, adaptive sync and G-sync compatibility ensures smooth gameplay. If you have a powerful video card, you can play games lag-free and in high quality. This is thanks to the QHD resolution, so you can distinguish even the smallest details. The HDR 10 support ensures clear and realistic colors. The IPS panel provides a large color range with a wide viewing angle, so people sitting next to you can watch comfortably. The VG27AQ is adjustable in several ways.

Note: for QHD gaming, you need a powerful video card, such as an NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU or AMD Radeon RX 5000 series GPU, an Xbox One, Xbox Series X or S, or a PlayStation 5.

    • Con:
Requires a powerful machine to keep high FPS at all times
    • Con:
Colors are not great out of the box

I think this is a great product for people with a good CPU and GPU that can sustain a high FPS in all times. In my case, my setup is not good enough, so when it goes down to 60 FPS or something like that, you can see some weird artifacts in the image (overshooting).

      Back light bleed
    • Con:
      VESA mount bad design

This is a really good monitor. Good viewing angles, refresh rate, good picture quality and contrast. Basically almost everything you would want from a nice gaming monitor and even more. No flickering issues, I couldn't notice any overshoot or trailing. Text is sharp and clear.
Dark side of asus is that you still must gambling on the panel quality. I had in total 3 monitors and all 3 had the same back light bleed pattern even on lowest brightness settings of 0. First was exchanged because it came with a dead pixel, second monitor had worst back light bleed I've ever seen and third I can tolerate. I have more IPS monitors and none of them had so strong back light bleed even dell with super thin bezel.
If you wanna use monitor arm with a quick release plate then you will have to be a little bit more creative since monitor vesa mount sitting deep in the frame.
If you can overcome back light bleed then you will enjoy this monitor.
