My smartphone always charges on the ZENS Liberty, whether I place it exactly upright or not. I think the charger looks nice, but it takes a little while to charge.
Appearance
The unique appearance of the glass variant in particular is the biggest plus for me. You see the 16 charging coils; that is not possible with any other charger. That is why the ZENS Liberty was given a prominent place in my living room, as a real eye-catcher. If you like something more subtle, there is also a variant with a black fabric top.
"Freedom of Placement"
Those 16 charging coils ensure that my smartphone always charges properly, even if it is tilted or on the edge. With other wireless chargers it sometimes happens that my device is not properly aligned and therefore does not start charging. I have never had that problem with the ZENS Liberty.
The coils are cooled by a small fan. If you listen carefully you can hear it. I didn't find it disturbing, even when the charger was on my bedside table.
Charge 2 to 3 devices simultaneously
2 devices fit on the charger at the same time. I charge both my iPhone 11 from work and my own Samsung Galaxy S10e. You can also charge wirelessly rechargeable earbuds with this charger, but not smartwatches. There is a USB A port on the ZENS Liberty. Connect the ZENS Apple Watch extension to it to charge your Apple Watch. I myself use the charging port to charge my headphones.
Charging speed
The ZENS Liberty supports fast charging for Apple and Samsung, but compared to wired charging, the charging takes a bit longer. It takes 75 minutes to charge my iPhone 11 to 50%. Full charging takes 3 hours. That is a lot faster than with a wireless charger without fast charging. It takes 5 hours to charge to 100%.
The ZENS Liberty delivers a maximum of 15 watts of power, which suggests that this charger is just as fast as 15 watt chargers from Apple and Samsung. However, those chargers contain an extra piece of fast charging technology that Apple and Samsung do not share with other brands. This means that the iPhone 12 series and the latest Samsung devices charge an hour faster with the chargers of those brands themselves.
This was no problem for me. If I want to charge really fast, I charge wired. I find the freedom of placement, the charging of multiple devices and the sturdy appearance more important with a wireless charger.
