I have been using the headphones for two weeks now and am very pleased with them. The quality of the sound is just good. I am not an audiophile or expert in this field. But to me it just sounds good. And because I'm not an expert, it's also handy that the app has pre-installed EQs from famous DJs such as Armin van Buuren, Nicky Romero and Ryan Marciano. Or for Piano, Jazz or Vocal. Because then I don't have to work with the equalizer myself, which you can adjust to your own taste, but as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't work well.
The headphones look good. He doesn't look big. The ear cups have a nice subtle chrome edge. The headphones are not very striking in their entirety. No fuss. I like that. It also feels good quality. Fits comfortably around the head and on my ears. So comfortable. It feels a bit heavy in the beginning, but that changes quickly. The earcups hinge on the headrest. And you can quite easily slide one earcup back from your ear while the headphones are still quite comfortable on your head. The ear cups can still be folded inwards, so that you can easily take the included baby carrier with you in your bag.
The headphones are simple to use. On the left earcup is the connection to use the headphones wired and 3 buttons. The back button is the on/off button. The middle one is the button to turn on Bluetooth and pair with other devices. The front button is for turning the Ambiant Aware or TalkThru function on and off. The buttons are positioned on the ear cup so that they are not visible from the front, but are still easy to reach and operate. Each of the three buttons comes together with an LED backlight to show whether the function is on or off.
On the right earcup is the USB-C connection to charge the headphones and 4 buttons. Two buttons to increase and decrease the volume or fast forward and rewind music. In between is a button to record and hang up your phone call or to start and pause your music. The fourth button is to toggle the Bass Boost on and off. On this side there is an LED light that shows when the headphones are being charged, fully charged or need to be recharged.
In addition to the buttons on the headphones themselves, a number of things can be arranged in the app. There you can choose, for example, whether you want to operate the Ambient Aware function or the TalkThru function with the button on the left earcup. The headphones have no noise canceling. I'm not into that either, because I want to keep in touch with my environment. With the Ambient Aware function on, you can hear certain ambient sounds even better and you are therefore more aware of your surroundings. In practice I find this difference difficult to perceive. The bigger difference is in the TalkThru function. With this turned on, you bring the volume to the background so that you are able to have a conversation with someone without taking off your headphones. So my preference is to assign this function to the head on the auricle.
On the left earcup, you can press the side so that you switch on the Google Assistant or Alexa. I have only been able to test the Google Assistant. When pressing the button, the Google Assistant will specify the time and read your notifications. You can even answer a WhatsApp directly by holding down the button, leaving a message and then releasing it. Then what you have said is repeated and with another click on the button you send the message. So super handy.
Using the headphones wirelessly to make phone calls also works well. Telephone conversations are clearly intelligible and I myself can be understood well. Ideal to use these headphones on a working day to listen to music and have conversations.
I am also satisfied with the battery life. After 6 working days of use for music and telephone calls, the battery is still at 30%.
